Educational Options

Nestled in the gorgeous Heritage Valley, Allard is a family-friendly neighbourhood within close proximity to many schools. In fact, Edmonton Public Schools is building a brand new K-9 school that will house over 900 students. Set to open in September 2017, this new facility will feature an enormous recreational centre, a football field, and a convenient drop off area. 

In addition, there are already five other established schools within the area meaning you and your children can have their pick. Donald R. Getty K-9, Roberta McAdams School K-6, and Micheal Strembitsky School 1-9, to name a few. 


Food and Fun 

Old English flair paired with a wealth of modern amenities makes Langdale in Windermere a unique place to call home. With two movie theatres nearby at Currents of Windermere (one being Edmonton's only VIP theatre), there's no shortage of entertainment. Edmontonians flock to this massive retail district from all over the city, but for those living in Walker Lakes, this popular location rests just a short drive away. Spanning over 320 acres, South Edmonton Common is definitely a one-stop shop for anything you may need. 

Also, there are many grocery stores in the Walker Lakes area (including a Walmart Supercentre) so you're sure to have your pick of where you'd like to buy. This is the perfect area for the frequent shopper!

If accessibility is one of your main concerns, look no further than Cy Becker. Commuting anywhere in Edmonton area is a breeze from this north community as it’s located just off the Anthony Henday and Yellowhead Trail - making most areas of the city reachable in just 30 minutes. For those needing transit services, Cy Becker is more than ETS friendly. You'll have access to the Clareview LRT and transit station featuring multiple bus routes and a mere 45-minute train ride to the other side of town. This community offers all the amenities of the big city while maintaining an open prairie feel. Westerra boasts massive green spaces including 9.19 hectares of environmental reserve and 1.46 hectares of park area right your backyard. This naturalistic neighbourhood even features a landscaped storm pond, paved walking trails and a treed ravine. In addition, you'll find several parks and playgrounds for the kids as well as the nearby CPGA Golf Course. There's no doubt that in Westerra, you'll be able to get out and enjoy everything mother nature has to offer.
